The Need

The genesis of KinetiCoach was rooted in a high-stakes problem faced by its founders—three military fighter pilots whose global deployment schedules often meant training in environments with severely limited equipment. They required a solution to the "hotel-gym predicament": the need for a precision-engineered workout that adapts to any environment in real-time. When the founders approached Epic Apps, they were seeking a high-level development partner to lead a technical rescue and expansion. The goal was to move beyond a limited legacy iPhone platform and build a scalable, cross-platform architecture capable of serving a global audience of traveling professionals who demand elite-level results.

The Solution

Epic's primary objective was to provide a comprehensive infrastructure fortification, transitioning the platform to a modern, high-concurrency stack. We utilized Heroku for scalable cloud hosting and Parse as a flexible backend-as-a-service to ensure rapid data delivery. To handle the complex, non-relational nature of customized workout logic, we implemented a MongoDB database, allowing for the high-speed retrieval of diverse athlete data points.

Beyond the code, we prioritized Business Intelligence (BI) by integrating MixPanel, giving the KinetiCoach administration team granular insights into user behavior, retention funnels, and feature engagement. Following this technical stabilization, Epic executed a complete UX/UI overhaul and engineered a native Android application from the ground up to achieve feature parity with the iOS version.
